They are an anti-theist hate group trying to overthrow the government. It's unclear how Nate became intertwined with the group, but there are theories that this crime was rooted in hate for who he was, and who he could never publicly be.

It's a shame, if you ask me.

To clear up some misconceptions:

1) He was definitely gay, and this crime was definitely based on hate.
2) The Risen are 100% gay bashers, anti-God, and vagrants.
3) Whoever killed him was likely a sexual deviant, because strangely they stole all of his underwear, clothes, and personal belongings. They also stole his favorite, albeit monetarily worthless, red backpack. In fact, they even took the pink stuffed bunny rabbit he slept with every night, which he lovingly called Mr. Boofy. Also, for some reason, they even took his favorite hair conditioner.

Thanks all for your kind words. Nate was a very sensitive boy, and even if he couldn't act on the crush he had for our neighbor, Chris, he deserved a better fate than this. Thanks again.

I'm Sam Lowree, Nate's sister. So I think I would know if he was gay or not. Unless you're suggesting that you know Nate better than his own sister does?
